Wednesday in Kaunas brought fierce battles and impressive team spirit as the U15 Relays and the U19 Women’s Final lit up the penultimate day of the 2025 European Modern Pentathlon Championships.
In the U15 Girls’ Relay, Czechia took the gold, thanks to an excellent Laser Run by Klara Joskova and Klara Petrankova, finishing with 974 points. Italy (Ferrari/Gennaro) claimed silver, and Hungary (Kertai/Gyarmati) took bronze. Lithuania’s team, Živilė Malinauskaitė and Elija Kurasovaitė, finished in a respectable 5th place, holding their own against Europe’s best.
The U15 Boys’ Relay saw a dramatic and tight competition. Turkey’s Mehmet Doruk Ozkan and Serhan Efe Ucari powered to gold with 1053 points, just ahead of Italy and Czechia. Lithuanian pair Dovas Baltrūnas and Gabrielius Malūnavičius finished 4th, only 21 points from bronze, showing excellent form in swimming and Laser Run segments.
In the U19 Women’s Final, Hungary’s Diana Rajncsak was crowned European champion with 1408 points, thanks to a dominant Laser Run finish. Germany’s Amaya El-Masri and Switzerland’s Vivienne Meyer rounded out the podium.
Lithuania’s Martina Rutkauskaitė placed a strong 7th overall, with Gustė Pečiulytė (16th), Faustė Lukminaitė (20th), and Gabrielė Ūkanytė (35th) also proudly representing the host nation. Their efforts earned Lithuania the bronze medal in the team classification, finishing behind Germany and Hungary.

The final day of the championship brings the excitement of Mixed Relays. The U15 Mixed Relay will feature three disciplines – Obstacle Discipline, Swimming, and Laser Run – while the U19 Mixed Relay adds fencing to the mix.
These fast-paced relays offer athletes one final chance to shine and represent their countries in a strategic and high-energy format. With medals still on the line, the championship is set for a dynamic and memorable conclusion in Kaunas.
